Our little cute one
Lilli had a blast with legos at Grandma and Grandpa Evans' house
Jared did to. A lot of masterpieces were created with many cousins involved. We spent a lot of time at the library this summer for the summer reading program. Lilli and Carmi both read close to 140 books and I read about 60 books to Jared and Nadia ( with a lot of help from Lilli and Carmi!) Of course there was also time to play with the cool toys they have.
Carmen with another book. She still reads after lights out...
We were on our way to collect more Nebraska passport stamps when we had to take an unexpected layover for car repairs. We were driving when Eric commented that the battery light had been on for a long time. So we pulled over and opened up the hood and out flipped what was remaining of the serpentine belt (the long skinny one). We drove back to the closest town which happened to be Sidney. Left the car at the shop and ran across the street to Cabela's. After several hours walking through the store, and a short wait at the shop the car was fixed. Lucky for us it was quick and relatively painless...and of course spending time at Cabela's is always a winner.
A little horseback ride...
A little game of checkers.
...with a slightly creepy indian mannequin.
Jared with the two headed calf..
We did a lot of camping. The kids had fun getting the air out of the mattress with Dad.
Lilli..and look below for one of her favorite animals!
The kids enjoyed free summer lunch at school. Usually followed by some time on the playground. It was REALLY hot in July so we usually played in the shade..
Lilli posing with Brownie, and her pajama pants she sewed for 4-H.
More summer lunch..
We took a trip to Ash Hollow State park for an event called "Convergence on Sacred Ground" There were some cool things to see. This picture was taken inside a teepee
Another picture inside the teepee. It was really hot. I can imagine it would be super cozy in the winter though.
We went and watched the public fashion show for 4-H. I guess Nadia wasn't impressed..snicker
I've spent the last year substituting in primary a lot. I decided to take a picture a few weeks ago of my class that day. So cute!
