Sunday...and Snow

January has apparently been a rather massive flu season here. We have been lucky so far...or maybe inspired to get the flu shot for everyone.
We have some friends who actually had the real flu (Influenza) ouch.
Up until today we were doing really well. (Other then a little 12 hour deal with Carmen in December)
...That is until halfway through the sacrament when Nadia decided it was her turn. With no warning she suddenly started throwing up. I  grabbed her and raced to the restroom, followed shortly by our Relief Society President (She is amazing!). She told me she wished she had taken more time to sit down and relax at home with her children were young and having a rough/sick day. I couldn't have agreed more. She went to get Eric while my friend Karla came in and helped me get Nadia cleaned up as much as possible. We went home shortly after that. So Nadia enjoyed a long bath and naptime while I watched Mormon Messages and the documentary on President Monson

.Here are several that I watched.
Good Things to Come
My New Life

We got a tad bit of snow Monday night...

Just a very small amount that equaled somewhere between 8 and 10 inches. So Simple. So Easy.So Perfectly Perfect (A small plug for one of our favorite books). Or not!
I drove Eric to work (He typically bikes...but decided that wouldn't be a good idea this particular day)
I came back and rushed the kids to school, only to arrive to a very dark building and no other parents dropping their children off. I checked my phone and saw Eric had called...called him back and found out school had been cancelled. (Later that day I also discovered a missed text at 6 am that morning that there was no school...) So after  nearly getting stuck in front of the school and having all sorts of slippery adventures on our drive home we finally made it and I promptly began to shovel. (That was at 7:30 am) Apparently there is a city ordinance...or something... that requires you to have all sidewalks shoveled by 10 am or you get a fine. Lovely.
I had Lilli take pictures for me (apparently the last for this camera...may it rest in peace. It currently makes a loud humming noise as it attempts to shut the lense...considering it's almost 10 years old and used a great deal I'd say it lived a good life)
That happy face above was around 8 am...Should've snapped a picture of my face when I finished at noon. It only took an hour for the muscle pain and general grumpiness to set in.(Plus frustration over a hole in my favorite green gloves, and two pairs of wet shoes...How on earth have I made it this far without winter boots?...I told the kids as soon as I could get out of our street I was buying myself some winter boots) Anyway.. I laid on the couch until 5 pm under the influence of aspirin dozing on and off while the kids watched Strawberry Shortcake.
I also may have wanted to kick myself when I realized I had missed another text from a High School student in our ward who was offering snow removal....darn.

On another note...we are approaching the year mark from when Eric moved to Scottsbluff. Everytime I think about the time we spent without him the happier I feel that he is with us now!
