Eric's Day

Eric graduated (kinda) from dental school on Thursday! He still has a few requirements left so it seemed odd for us to celebrate, but it was nice for him to be recognized for the hard work he's put in the last four years. We'll definitely be having a real celebration next month when he finishes his requirements. It's been a tough few months for him, a lot of patients haven't shown up for appointments, or had other extenuating circumstances, which makes it a little challenging to finish. But he is the little engine that could for sure, he just keeps plugging along getting things done.
My best friend Kandis flew into Columbus, OH from Salt Lake and then she and my sister Amanda drove up to Philly. It was soo nice to have them come, they helped with the girls during graduation and of course we got to play hard!
Graduation was at The Academy of Music in Center City, we took the subway down, which turned out perfect because the last stop on the express was right on the block where we needed to be.
Graduation was sooo long, we arrived at 3:30 and the program started at 4. Carmen slept through pomp and circumstance, but woke up and only wanted me to hold her, so she cried anytime Amanda or Kandis tried to hold her so I could wrestle with Lilli. We were sitting in a "box" which was nice because we blocked Lilli in and there was a little room down on the floor where she could play. Most of the time she was trying to crawl over the balcony.
Around 5:30 Eric signaled to me to bring Lilli down to him so she could walk across the stage with him. I took her down, but about 10 minutes later she started crying. So I went down with Carmen to see if she would stay with Eric, of course she started crying too. I sat down in an empty seat behind Eric and tried to convince Lilli to stay with him. It went kinda like this: Me: Lilli, don't you want to go up and walk across the stage? Lilli: Yeah! Me: You can walk across the stage with Daddy. Lilli: NO!!
So I took the took the two girls back up to our seat, (meanwhile trying not to trip on my long skirt, and hold on to Lilli, who kept trying to run away). It was pretty crazy. Graduation ended up lasting until about 6:45.

Here we are on the subway, Lilli and Carmen looked so cute in their matching dresses.

The Academy of Music was beautiful. But it was really dark so we didn't get very many pictures.

Go Kornbergers!!

Here we are at the Subway on our way home.

Eric was really eager to get out of his graduation gown (I think it's cause it had lavender on it!)

Congrats Eric! That's fun that Amanda and Kandis came, but sounds like Richard's graduation. Jaylee was crying the whole time and such, but it wasn't nearly as long as yours :) Since you know USU college of HASS verses Temple Dentistry school is rather small in comparison :)
