1. If you run out of "picture space" and blogger wants you to buy more you can do the following:
a. Back up your blog (export it to your hard drive, instructions can be found at http://support.google.com/blogger/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=97416)
-If you want to double check that it has been saved then make sure you view it with a newsreader program..otherwise you just get all that greek stuff...
and then after it has been saved you in go in and delete a years worth of posts off your blog online so that you can continue...
b. You can also go to blog2print.com, set up an account and print off your blog into a nice book.
And now for the catching up....
Eric decided to make a gingerbread house for our ward christmas party. He designed it himself. I never knew this sort of thing could take SO long (but then we also baked our own gingerbread which was a project all by itself!)
This pretty much was the beginning of all our christmas baking. We decided to make goody plates for all the staff at Eric's office. The final amounts looked something like this:
Sugar Cookies (Stars and Trees) -About 7 dozen (We still have some in the freezer!)
Gingerbread Men- About 4 dozen (Leftovers were gone quickly! The kids LOVED them!!)
A MASSIVE last minute project of homemade taffy made by Eric (It took three moppings to get the sticky off the kitchen floor!!)
A large batch of Eric's awesome homemade Hickory Bark Syrup
And just for us: a large pan each of cinnamon rolls and orange rolls. A key lime pie and an apple pie. WHEW. That is definitely a way to get out of the mood for baking for a very long time!!
Lilli is my little kitchen helper. She reminds me of me when I was a little girl. On my Mom's chore chart was the always coveted position of "cooks assistant" it was always my favorite!
This is the remains of the gingerbread house the day after our ward party. Carmi was SO proud that she was the one to cause the roof to collapse!
There is nothing to make things feel like Christmas then a little snow!!
This is the first thing Lilli did when she walked outside!
Carmi followed suit
Fun.
It wasn't terribly cold that day, but we had this horrible wind that just cut right through you. I was really impressed at how long the girls stayed outside. Jared was loving the whole snow thing, until he left the porch and experienced the wind. He sat down and kinda just froze there. After about five minutes of him not moving I decided to go and get him. The poor little guy could hardly move he was so cold. He finally recovered about ten minutes after coming inside and of course wanted to go back out. But I decided he better wait until the wind stopped. Which it did the next day so he was able to enjoy the snow a lot more!
Yay! We did it! We finally put up a tree about a week before Christmas. I didn't want it up for to long because I knew Jared would be un-decorating it like crazy! (Which he did!)
We got the kids Pajamas for Christmas Eve.
Carmi was SO overjoyed with her Cinderella jammies I think she had perma smile for several days. (And of course didn't want to take them off ever!!)
Lilli got Minnie Mouse
And Jared got Scoobie Doo.
This is really the first Christmas we've had that at least one of the kids was fully aware of what was going on. It made things so much more fun. Lilli was asking all day Christmas Eve "Is it time to go to bed?" And then she comes in at 5 am in the morning and crawls into our bed and asks "when is it going to be light?" HAHA!!
This is completely random but she was really excited to get batteries in her stocking (so she could use the camera she got for her birthday that goes through them like crazy!)
The first Sunday of the new year. We switched from 2 pm to 9 am church. As hard as it is to get everyone out of the house on time it was SO fabulous to be home before dark!!
Carmi went to Sunbeams!!
Lilli acting all grown up...or something...
Jared had a hard time going to nursery without Carmi. Plus he wasn't terribly happy to get woke up before 8 am by Mom.
